After more than three decades in the sedan market, the Nissan Altima appears to be approaching the end of its journey in the United States.

A senior Nissan North America executive has confirmed that the Altima will leave the company’s lineup soon, potentially making the 2026 model one of the final chapters for the well-known sedan in the American market. 🚘🔥

🚨 A Statement That Opens the Door to Farewell

The confirmation came from Vishnu Pandikuthira, Nissan North America’s senior vice president and head of product planning.

He indicated that the Altima would soon depart, while the more advanced Sentra is expected to cover Nissan’s remaining demand in the sedan segment.

However, Nissan has not announced a definitive production end date or formally confirmed that the 2026 model will be the final Altima.

🚘 Sentra Prepares to Take Over

The move reflects a significant change in Nissan’s North American strategy as demand for midsize sedans continues to face pressure from SUVs and crossovers.

Nissan is now positioning the redesigned Sentra as its primary sedan offering once the Altima leaves the U.S. lineup.

🇸🇦 What About the Nissan Altima in Saudi Arabia?

For now, the 2026 Nissan Altima remains officially available in Saudi Arabia, with advertised prices starting from SAR 112,700 including VAT but excluding transportation, registration and other applicable dealer fees.

Nissan Saudi Arabia has not announced the discontinuation or withdrawal of the Altima from the local market.

The current development therefore relates mainly to Nissan’s North American product strategy and does not automatically mean the model is being discontinued in Saudi Arabia or globally.

❓Will 2026 Be the Final U.S. Altima?

Current indications place the 2026 Altima in a critical position following Nissan’s confirmation that the model will soon leave the lineup.

However, the exact final model year will remain uncertain until Nissan issues a more detailed official announcement.

The question now is:

Is the Altima leaving America only, or is this the beginning of a global farewell for one of Nissan’s best-known sedans? 🔥
